In the 2003/04 season ATLETICO MADRID Football Club began a deep process of transformation. Football clubs in Spain had to adapt to changing times. The Premier League and the Bundesliga were the newest market trend setter and the Spanish La Liga could not be left behind.
ATLETICO MADRID was in an important period of global modernization, including strengthening the areas of communication, marketing and sales.
In January 2004 our director Guillermo Moraleda joined the club taking responsibility for the commercial business area.
In the Social area we introduced further segmentation of the price of seats in the Vicente Calderon Stadium and implemented a system for members to renew by direct debit.
New spaces in the stadium were opened such as the OFFICIAL STORE, the 1903 Sport Arena and the MUSEUM.
In the Corporate Area a dialogue was created with the business world with the creation of new VIP Boxes and new areas in the stadium as well as the signing of important Sponsorship agreements at International level.
Companies like Korean automotive giant KIA MOTORS, the Japanese consortium KYOCERA-MITA or bookmakers LADBROKES accompanied the Club on this new journey, joining the project along with historical sponsors such as American company Nike, Mahou-San Miguel and Coca Cola.
During these years there have been many important companies that have joined the project with bringing funding and ideas to the Club: Adecco, Volkswagen, Huawei, PLUS500, Electronic Arts and many others.
ATLETICO MADRID Football Club is a reference internationally for its degree of innovation in Sports Marketing and the level of care and services to its customers in all areas, along with the excellent sporting results in recent seasons.
